
Sri Lanka celebrated a landmark moment in motorsport as Yevan David became the first Sri Lankan driver in history to score a podium finish in FIA Formula 3, taking a superb P2 in the Silverstone Sprint Race.
Driving for AIX Racing, David delivered a composed and competitive drive throughout the race, initially holding position in the lead group before ultimately securing second place behind dominant race winner Ugo Ugochukwu.
The result marks a breakthrough moment for Sri Lankan motorsport on the international stage.
The race, held at the iconic Silverstone Circuit as part of the FIA Formula 3 season, was won convincingly by Campos Racing’s Ugo Ugochukwu, who controlled proceedings from pole position and built a commanding 17-second victory margin.
