
The Court of Appeal today (14) adjourned until July 17 the hearing of a petition filed by former Director of the State Intelligence Service (SIS) Suresh Sallay, challenging his arrest and detention under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) in connection with investigations into the 2019 Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.
When the petition was taken up today, President's Counsel Sanjeewa Jayawardena, appearing for the petitioner, made further submissions before the court.
Following the submissions, the Court of Appeal ordered that the matter be taken up again on July 17 for further consideration.
